KeyProof is a property walkthrough app that helps renters and buyers document the condition of a home with photos, video, voice notes, and a timestamped PDF record.
KeyProof is published by Cedarline Technologies LLC. Questions: contact@keyproof.app.
1. The short version
- Everything you create in KeyProof stays on your iPhone.
- KeyProof does not upload your walkthrough media to any server.
- Sign in with Apple is optional. Only your name (for the PDF signature line) and an opaque Apple user ID are received.
- No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
2. What we collect, and why
On-device data (never leaves your device)
| Permission | What we do with it |
|---|---|
| Camera | Capture photos and video clips of rooms |
| Microphone | Record voice notes about rooms or damage |
| Speech recognition | Transcribe voice notes inline (Apple on-device when available) |
| Photo library | Optional: import a listing photo from your camera roll |
| Location | Optional: stamp the property's address on the PDF cover |
| Calendar | Optional: write move-in or closing-day reminders |
| Notifications | Optional: local follow-up reminders |
We do not transmit any of the above off your device.
Apple Sign in (optional)
Apple shares your name (first sign-in only) and an opaque user identifier. We do not request your email address.
To revoke: iOS Settings → Apple ID → Sign-in with Apple → KeyProof → Stop Using.
Optional cloud backup (v1.1+, off by default)
Starting in v1.1, KeyProof offers optional metadata backup to a Cedarline-controlled Supabase project. When enabled: property list metadata (addresses, notes, price, agent contact) syncs. Photos, videos, and voice notes never sync — they stay device-local. Disable anytime in Settings → Account & privacy. Rows are gated by Row Level Security on your Apple user ID.
3. What we do not collect
- No photo uploads
- No contacts, messages, or browsing history access
- No selling or sharing with third parties
- No ads or advertising SDK
- No tracking (no IDFA, no fingerprinting)
4. PDFs you generate
Render on your device. Where they go next is your choice — Save to Files or share via the iOS share sheet (Apple-operated).
5. Deleting your data
Settings → Account & privacy → Delete account & all data wipes every property, walkthrough, capture, document, and profile. Also signs you out of Apple Sign in and deletes any cloud backup data.
For deletion requests that can't be completed in-app, email support@keyproof.app — we respond within one business day.
6. KeyProof for Property Managers (Chrome extension)
The KeyProof for Property Managers Chrome extension helps property managers save unit inventory (address, bedroom count, bathroom count) from real-estate listing pages and PM software into their KeyProof dashboard.
What the extension reads
- Text and structured metadata (JSON-LD) from the tab you are currently viewing, only after you click the extension icon or right-click selected text.
- The URL of the current tab (used to help identify the source of the listing you saved).
What the extension sends off-device
- The address, bedroom, and bathroom values you confirm in the extension popup are handed off to keyproof.app for saving to your dashboard. The handoff uses your existing keyproof.app sign-in session — the extension never receives, stores, or transmits your password.
- Nothing is sent to any third party. There is no analytics or advertising SDK in the extension.
What the extension does not do
- Does not read pages in the background — it only activates when you explicitly click the icon or use the right-click menu.
- Does not access other tabs, browser history, saved passwords, cookies, or autofill data.
- Does not track your browsing across sites.
- Does not sell or share user data with anyone.
Local storage
The extension may cache your most recent "save destination" (the property you last added a unit to) in Chrome's local extension storage, so you don't have to reselect it each time. This never leaves your browser.
Uninstalling
Uninstall the extension anytime from Chrome → Extensions. Uninstalling removes all local extension data. To delete data already saved to your KeyProof dashboard, sign into keyproof.app and use Settings → Delete account.
7. Children
Not directed at children under 13. Age rating 4+ but use case is for legal adults.
